On May 3rd, I joined the Hawkwood Community Association to recognize the over 200 dedicated volunteers who run the Association’s ice rink, programs and community initiatives. The Association put on a free concert for the whole community to thank these amazing volunteers.
There was great food, live music, dance performances, and strong local entrepreneurship on display at the Hong Kong Journey in Time event in Calgary.

A Parliamentary Secretary responded with nonsense about non-specific things they claim they are “building”. At last night’s “adjournment proceedings” I debated that unsatisfactory response with this Parliamentary Secretary, who responded with a pre-canned set of Finance Department talking points, including their adherence to “fiscal anchors” even as they blow through the very anchor he cites.
The Bank of Canada’s Monetary Policy Report shows that business investment contributed 0.0 per cent to GDP growth in 2025 and that consumers, not business investment, are driving the economy. Canada has the most indebted households in the G7. I asked BOC Governor Tiff Macklem if that is a concern.
