Stampede is behind us, and I would like to thank the organizers of the community events and the volunteers who made this year’s Stampede a great success.

A special thanks to the Citadel Community Association, Scenic Acres Community Association, Kincora Community Association, The Tuscany Club, Rocky Ridge Retirement Community, Revera Scenic Acres Retirement Residence, and Shane Homes YMCA for inviting me to attend their Stampede community breakfasts and events.

Thank you to Sameer Pandey and organizers for having me at the Nepali Meli and Multicultural Showcasing at Prairie Winds Park. It was a pleasure to meet Alberta resident Chhering Sherpa who has been to the top of Mt Everest 7 times, deliver greetings on behalf of Pierre Poilievre and meet Counsellor Rojina Tamrakar from the Embassy of Nepal.

It was my pleasure to join the St Mary’s Malankara Orthodox Church for a wonderful Summer Fun Fair. It was nice to see Smithu again and to learn about her role at St Mary’s Sunday school. I first met her when presenting a New Citizenship letter to her in 2019.

Meanwhile, the consequences of the Liberal Government’s Bill C-18 are beginning to be felt.  Facebook and Google are refusing to display links to Canadian news articles because of this deeply flawed bill.  This is exactly what experts and the companies themselves said would be the result of Bill C-18 prior to coming into force.

My colleagues and I offered amendments to fix the Bill, but they were voted down. A Conservative government would replace C-18 with a bill that fixes these problems that the current government has created.
